When the first motorized gas-engine vehicle was invented by Carl Benz in 1886, Christmas trees decorated with nuts, strings of popcorn and candies were just gaining in popularity. The colour printing process of chromolithography had been invented, and Christmas cards were now a common custom in households across America. Vehicles have come a long way since then, with the invention and development of alternate fuel engines and electric vehicles run on rechargeable batteries.
Today, Western culture shapes its own traditional Christmas values, presenting statutory holidays, card and gift giving, tree decorating and turkey dinners. In the coming years, new advancements will be made to vehicle technology as we move forward with climate awareness and attitudes shifting toward energy saving.
